    Excellence in Science Institute

Need to Raise Science Achievement? NISL will help you do that.

Excellence in ScienceTo bring all students to proficiency in science, principals do not need to become experts in the subject. But they do need to be able to identify and support instructional best practices in their schools. Leaders can make sure that science classrooms provide students with opportunities to engage in the scientific process through classroom observations and providing ongoing professional development to their science educators. These efforts, research shows, help increase student achievement in science.

The National Institute for School Leadership offers a two-day program for school leaders that puts them on the fast track to developing and implementing a school-wide action plan for bolstering their school's science performance.
